Something I've Been Forgetting

A few months back, I posted about wanting to give myself positive affirmation (if you follow the link, make sure to read Sideon's comment; it's good!). I've been distracted since then, because I forgot about its importance. I still need to do it, because I've yet again been reminded that "if you love yourself, then you can hear others' love too".

Have you ever stepped outside yourself and asked yourself "If I wasn't me, would I be friends with me?" In other words, do I really like myself.

I think I'd be friends with myself. I'm pretty funny. I listen well, and try (though sometimes futilely) to gain understanding. I like to get people to take a look at themselves, get to the root of the issue. It's true, I struggle doing that with myself, but I'm willing to try.

How about you? Would you be friends with yourself?

I'm glad you'd be friends with yourself. If I were someone else I'd TOTALLY be friends with you.

Ooh, that's a great point, Saint'n.

A) absolutely (and I think this was the intent of my question)

B) well maybe not, but that's the goal, now isn't it?

Right now I am so pissed at the world. I try to APPRECIATE the fact that I am a BITCH! The only way I could be friends with myself is if I was a friend "with benefits"!!! La I was thinking about flying out to Utah with my husband, he's a ski junky, and I am a lush!! Maybe we can get together! It won't be till January!

Ok, JLO, you are impossible not to like.
As for you La, you are so interesting and full of life.
Go ahead and love yourself...wait, would that require a visit to the Bishop?!? :D

LOL, of COURSE it would require a visit to the bishop. I agree, La, that you are one of the best personalities I've found here in the Blogosphere. You are very witty and funny and I really like your new picture too. So, embrace the real you and feel the affirmation we are sending. You too are impossible not to like, just like JLO.

I too struggle with my inner bitch. Just ask my kids and husband.

Look inside yourself, and you will find.....
lots of friends and neighbors gathered round to give you peace of mind...
oh, peace of mind....

But if I'm not me, who would I be? Another person exactly like me?

In that case, I'd definitely like myself. I'd take myself out for a beer and have a good laugh swapping stories.

I just hope the two me's would have different anecdotes to tell each other. Otherwise we'd get bored pretty quickly....
