Yeah, uhm, thanks! But no thanks.

So Matt is nice enough. He's got quite a printing setup. I was relaxed, confidant (thanks to those who encouraged me!), and dressed nice casual. He made me wait for a bit, but that was fine.

Here's the thing: he wants a full-time employee to do grunt work for $7 per hour. He'll raise it to $8 if they are a good worker and they catch on well. And he said he'd work with me on my time. But I'm sorry. To work full-time I'd definitely need day-care for my son, and after taxes and day-care costs, I'd probably be only taking home $400 a month. Yeah. Uhm, so no.

But. This has inspired me to see what else is out there, and maybe look into working this semester and starting school in January. Oh well... NOW it's time for that beer! :)

Sigh. It's hard. I'd love to become a stay-at-home artist and mom but my wage keeps me here in the office job as I'm dependent on the great pay. Someday maybe. Of course, that'll be when my kids are grown up so it won't feel so pressing to be a stay-at-home mom. I think it'd be good for my kids (religion pushing for stay-at-home status of females notwithstanding) if I were home. I'd love it! I'm no domestic goddess, however!

I have a couple brothers who work at malls in SLC selling cell phones and services. Are you in Orem? I'm not sure if they have any counterparts there but I can ask if you'd like...

Ugh, I should stay away from the selling of cell phones. :)

I like staying home (though I'm far from domestic goddess-hood) but it's time for a small change. Nothing too drastic! I think, sometimes, that I hurt my kids more by being at home. ;)

Our local BBQ joint pays more. I think that they START at $9.50/hour. Hell, I made $10.50/hour as a graduate lab assistant in 1985 at BYU. I'm amazed at how crappy some companies pay and then wonder why they don't have quality employees or why they don't have employee loyalty.

Don't put school off! You were so looking forward to it! Try Starbucks - I'm always reading that flyer inside that says they have flexible hours benefits, and free coffee. :)

Maybe you could work part-time as a spell checker.

Maybe you should kiss my big butt. Definitely.
