Tattoos

I want a general idea of how exmos feel about tattoos. Don't not comment, cause I want your opinion, even if you think I don't. Oh, and I do have administrator priviledges, which means I can delete comments as I see fit. :)

My take on tattoos:

Painful. Stuck with them forever, so be damn sure you're getting what you want. If I were to ever get one, it would be small (like 3" x 2" tops), and probably out of general sight. Maybe shoulder, or lower back/hip area.

K, your turn.

Tattoos: individual choice. If you want one, get one. If you don't want one - don't. This isn't Nazi Germany. Yet.

I have a tattoo. I have friends that don't like tattoos. I've been judged for having a tattoo, but I didn't turn around and judge my friends for not having one. Strangely, it is sometimes the exmormon world which can be even more strident and shrill about what is right and wrong (no tattoos = right, and tattoos = wrong).

Painful? Depends on where you'd get it done. Permanent? Yes. My take is that if you're getting something on your body, try henna or permanent marker of the design for a few weeks to see if it's an image you'd like to live with.

My friend Julz has an appointment next week for her 3rd tattoo - I admit to a touch of jealousy.

I have 14 tattoos, if you count Liz Taylor and her 8 husbands as one. And one on my foreskin that says "Masseuse, please don't rub past this line"

I want one like Montgomery Q's.

Except it would say "Masseur", and to please "use lots of lube past this line."

I am soooo adicted to the show "inked". People have amazing stories of why they get tatooed! As for me, I am flighty and cannot commit to one image forever. I am afraid my tweety will look like Big Bird in 10 years!!! On the other hand I love piercings...S&M kinda girl!

I don't have a problem with tattoos on principle, but I think I would have a hard time coming up with a design that would mean something to me and I would like for the rest of my life.

I think I'd rather use henna or marker so I could switch to another design when I get bored of the one I've got... ;^)

I have a tattoo of Am's face on my butt. It makes her look like a wookie with acne. You might think I got it years ago when we were married, but you'd be wrong. I got it last month.

I was very close to getting a tattoo of a CTR shield a couple of years ago. I'm glad I didn't. I think I'm going to get WTF instead in the same style and in a shield.

I'm completely intrigued by tattoos, and will TOTALLY get one at some point. However, I haven't yet thought of anything that I'll really want forever. Someone told me that she got one in white ink on the underside of her wrist (I think that's where it was, anyway), and it's really hard to see unless she points it out. I'd want one there and/or on my shoulder. Not sure what color, but small - very small. Also, what's supposed to freak me out? I've read all your new blogs...

Hate em. I've seen very few that I like and I'm often left thinking, "What in the hell were they thinking? How drunk were they to get that put on?"

One of the decades worst fashion trends.
