My friend told me something truly profound:
You have to figure out what really, truly makes you happy and chase it...
Yes, I agree that the words are profound, BUT, I wholeheartedly and passionately agree with the concept.
The reality is that happiness starts and ends within you. There's not a carrot of happiness that god or the universe or mother nature or baby Jesus are going to dangle in front of you to get your attention.
It's not a matter of chasing. It's a simple matter of looking in the mirror or in looking inside at yourself. No one is lacking or missing anything (except maybe someone like Lance Armstrong and the one cancerous testicle that was removed - but then again, he has 7 Tour De France winnings, too). Simple, and we as humans make it so hard - it doesn't have to be that way.
