Why did the Mayo Clinic remove their success story that is Shona Holmes??
I'm into universal health care. So I've been reading up on the Candian who had to come to the US to get the treatment she "needed". I've seen this link in MANY places:
http://www.mayoclinic.org/patientstories/story-339.html
It's the Mayo Clinic's story of Shona Holmes. But sadly, I cannot view their story because it's been removed. Why? Over-traffic is my guess. Huh.

Hmmm...I've never heard of this girl's story. That sucks you can't read it! I don't really know much about universal health care...I guess it's something I need to think about.
How have you been? It's been forever since I've seen you last! How is the summer going??

As a Canadian my guess would be the Shona asked them to take it down because she is taking a lot of heat up here, because many Canadians think she is a liar and their site seems to confirm it.
Universal health care is not perfect but it seems to be better than your system-- which would scare the hell out of me.
I'm into doing my family tree and because of this a 3rd cousin from the states found my web site and since that time we have communicated for the last 3 years. About a month ago we were talking about this subject ( she lives in Washington state. She told me she has never been able to afford insurance, I could only give my head a shake and hope that she never gets really sick!!
Anyways, that is my 2 cents, if you ever want to know anything about Canadian Health care I will answer your questions to the best of my ability. By the way we have a higher life expectancy and a lower infant mortality far than the US by far--- it must say something about our health care system vs yours...

Hey Sean, I thought of a question for you! :)
I just read on a random site that "Canadians pay 900.00 monthly for a family. They get to see a doctor on M-T from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Put down Obama's plan write every congressman in this country. They are selling us down the path of no-return..............we need to wake up America."
Your thoughts?
Thanks, La

I would like to see the link to that site LOL... It is a right wing lie. I have a wife and four children I do not pay 900 dollars a month for health care!! To read what Canadians are saying about this... because it has made many Canadian very angry that we are being bashed in the American media, and for them to rely on a Liar like Shona (she did not have a brain tumour that was going to kill her in 6 months).
900 hundred dollars WOW!! But tell me something about your system, may be what I hear is not true. Do Americans really lose homes and go bankrupt when serious health problem come up? What happens to that person after thing are better, do they get to keep their insurance, if so does it them sky rocket in price? What if they lose their inurance coverage can they get coverage from another plan or are they left in the dark? We don't have to worry about stuff like that.
I will post links to the two biggest tv networks read the message left on the story about Shona you may get the idea about how Canadians feel about our system

The following link is to a Western Canadian paper ( the west particularly Albert is very right winged) and even they seem to be amazed

here is one more link to think about

Our system is not perfect but I would not give it up for your system--ever.

Sorry, I forgot to answer the other part of the comment. I have not seen a doctor with so few hours... 9am to 12 noon!!I am sure it is the same in the US doctors and clinics have hours of operation! If I really need to see a doctor I can got to an all night clinic or the hospital emergency room-- the emergency room is usually a longer wait because people with more serious injures ( car accidents etc...) get priority.
I found the post you spoke of and this "duckhouse" guy is an idiot.
